StillDeck includes options for readability, contrast, highlights, and motion. This page describes the current product behavior; it is not a certification or a guarantee that every browser and assistive-technology combination will behave the same way.
Accessibility settings
Open Settings from a game menu to adjust these options. Your choices are saved in this browser and apply across StillDeck games.
- Card size — choose from ten levels on layouts where the control is available
- Text size — increase or decrease interface text
- High contrast — promotes muted text and strengthens card edges
- Reduced motion — minimizes motion across the game interface
- Stronger highlights — adds bolder selection outlines and hint cues

Keyboard controls
Move through buttons and links with Tab and Shift+Tab. Activate buttons with Enter or Space and links with Enter. Game shortcuts include U for undo, H for a hint, R to restart, and F for focused play where those actions are available. Supported browsers may also enter fullscreen in focused play.
In Solitaire and FreeCell, Tab enters the board and the arrow keys move between cards and piles. Enter or Space selects and moves a card, and Escape cancels the current selection.
Spider exposes selectable cards and empty columns as keyboard-activated targets. Use Tab and Shift+Tab to move between them, and Enter or Space to select or place a run. Spider does not currently provide the same arrow-key board navigation as Solitaire and FreeCell.
Screen readers and focus
Cards, piles, and game controls have programmatic names. Solitaire and FreeCell provide polite status messages for board selection, moves, cancellation, and invalid actions. Game dialogs keep focus inside while open; dismissible dialogs close with Escape and return focus to the control that opened them.
Spider announces the selected run, but it does not yet provide the same board-move status layer as Solitaire and FreeCell.
Motion sensitivity
StillDeck respects the prefers-reduced-motion system setting automatically. You can also enable reduced motion manually in Settings. Hint cues retain a static outline or halo when their animation is removed.
Known limits
- The card-size control is hidden on phones and short landscape layouts, where the board uses a fixed fit
- Browser, operating-system, and assistive-technology combinations can differ
- Some shortcuts are available only when their matching game action is present
